Melissa shoes are fun, colourful and exhibits an adolescent appeal that recaptures my childhood. It reminds me of the times I’ve spent playing with plastic toys of every variety. In this project, I wanted to recreate that nostalgic experience by bringing together the Melissa shoes and toys. Dinosaur toys are stereotypically a boys’ toy, however in this instance I hope the marry the subject of dinosaurs with the rather feminine Melissa shoes. The customised shoes symbolises the versatility of Melissa shoes, which reaches out to ladies who would insatiably fall in love with this series of ‘Dinosaurs in my garden’ because of their unquenched thirst of playing with dinosaurs during their childhood days. The idea of ‘Dinosaurs in my garden’ is a spontaneous and playful take to create a whimsical scenario that is bizarre and extraordinary just like a child’s imagination.
