I’m delighted to be part of the International Women’s Day celebration with Melissa Shoes Singapore this year where two workshops were hosted for women. One of the workshops reached out to students from Care Singapore, where the students were invited to express and share their feelings by creating their own unique pair of shoes.

Prior the workshop, I had customised three unique pairs of Melissa Shoes with quotes that have inspired me. These shoes were samples to encourage and help the guests in coming up with their personal designs.

The following quotes – “Never Forget Your Beginner’s Spirit”, “I Am Not What I Am, I Am What I Do With My Hands” and “Tell Your Story” were painted on the shoes – from artists whom I admire, whose philosophies I resonate with. Learning to never forget that earnest spirit which I had since a child and to never give up too easily, to learn that I need to use my hands critically in the work I do, to find beauty daily in the vernacular.
